Discussion
The discussions on GitCode allow project participants and community members to engage in open and meaningful communication. Through discussions, you can solve problems, share insights, promote collaboration, and enhance the transparency of the project.
When participating in discussions, please:
- Maintain courtesy and respect, respecting others' opinions and viewpoints.
- Provide clear and detailed information to ensure your discussion or reply has sufficient context and information for others to understand your question or suggestion.
- Use tags to add relevant labels, making it easier for others to find your discussion.
Discussion Entry
- Click on the project name in the left sidebar of the homepage to access the project's main page.
- Click on "Discussions" in the project navigation bar to see all the discussions of the project.
Discussion Categories
- Announcements: Project maintainers provide the latest news and updates.
- Open Discussions: Tasks and content related to the project that do not fit into other categories.
- Q&A Help: Seek help from community members; you can choose to accept an answer.
- Sharing and Showcasing: Share and showcase your work, achievements.
- Poll Discussions: Set options to initiate votes on discussion topics within the community.
- Ideas or Creativity: Share new feature ideas or creative concepts.
Creating a New Discussion
To start a new discussion, follow these steps:
- On the project's discussion page, click "New Discussion" at the top right corner.
- Choose the type of discussion you want to create, and click "Start Discussion" to initiate that type of discussion.
- Fill in the title and content. It is recommended that your title clearly conveys the theme of your discussion to ensure others can understand it.

Add tags to make it easier for others to find your discussion.
- After filling out the details, click "Create Discussion" to publish your discussion.
Replying and Commenting
To reply or comment on existing discussions, follow these steps:

Click on the discussion you are interested in on the discussion page.

Find the comment input box below the discussion, write your reply or comment, and click "Post Comment" to publish your reply or comment.

Accepting an Answer
For Q&A type discussions, project members or the person who asked the question can click "Accept Answer" to set another user's reply as the answer. This helps clearly distinguish between questions and answers so that others can easily find and understand them.
Discussion Notifications
GitCode will notify you about new replies or comments on discussions via email, internal messages, etc. You can configure your notification settings according to your preferences to ensure you stay informed about the most important discussions in a timely manner.
By using the GitCode discussion module, you can better interact with the project community, solve problems, and participate in the development of open-source projects. Following the above steps and best practices will help make your discussions more valuable and effective.
